It was in 2014 that Apst. Dr Precious Toe felt inspired by her faith to do something to recognise the achievements of Christian women in various fields of endeavour. She was initially going to host a meeting where she brought women together to present them with flowers. However, she was inspired by the HolySpirit to host a worship session where she will award the women instead, which led to the founding of the WWGMA Awards.

The first ever WWGMA awards ceremony took place in 2018 in Central London. Since then, the WWGMA awards have presented over 150 awards to women from the UK and throughout the African Diaspora.
Former WWGMA award winners include gospel singer Lurine Cato MBE, Transformational Coach/Journalist /Public Speaker/Lecturer, Sherry Ann Dixon and Dr Pauline Long, founder of the BEFFTA awards.
Apst. Dr Precious stated, “Christian women from across the denominational spectrum do amazing work in a wide range of fields. I’m looking forward to recognising the achievements of these great women at WWGMA Awards 2024. Like me, many of these women will have overcome personal challenges in order to achieve, but through their faith in God and personal resilience, they have surmounted the obstacles they faced and in the process, have positively impacted the lives of others and been an
inspiration.”
She added, “I encourage women to put August 24 in their diary. They’ll enjoy an
inspiring awards ceremony, that will be filled with worship, music and
encouragement. It will also serve as a reminder that with God all things are
possible.”

Apostle Dr Precious, was born in Liberia, and came to the UK as a teen to escape the ‘Diamond War’ in the 1990s, and alongside her other community work, she provides support to pregnant teens.

Proceeds from the awards event will be donated to Stand UP and Stand Out, a charity that provides education and support for children suffering from albinism.
